Traffic & candidate sources
Understanding where your candidates come from helps you invest your recruiting time and budget in the right places.
Traffic sources
hire.page tracks where visitors to your careers page originated:
- Direct — typed your URL or used a bookmark
- Organic search — found you via Google or other search engines
- Social — LinkedIn, Twitter/X, or other social platforms
- Referral — clicked a link from another website
- Email — came from an email link
Source attribution for candidates
Beyond page traffic, hire.page tracks the source of each application — which channel the candidate came through before submitting. This gives you a "source to application" view beyond just page views.
Career page traffic
The traffic report shows total visits to your careers page over the selected period, plus a breakdown by traffic source. Use this to answer: "Is my LinkedIn post driving candidates, or is search doing most of the work?"
Using source data
Common insights from traffic analytics:
- If most traffic is direct but you haven't shared the link — someone is sharing it for you. Find out where and lean into it.
- If organic search drives significant traffic — your job titles and descriptions are well-indexed. Double down on clear, searchable titles.
- If a social post drives a spike — note the format, timing, and platform so you can replicate it.
Plan requirement
Source breakdown and deep traffic analytics require a Pro or Business plan. Starter plan users see high-level totals without the source attribution detail.
