About the role

You'll own the systems that keep our product reliable as we scale — data pipelines, APIs, services, and the boring infrastructure that's only boring when it works.

We have real volume, real edge cases, and a small enough team that you'll touch all of it.

What you'll do

  • Design and ship APIs that the frontend and customers depend on
  • Work on the systems behind our highest-traffic flows
  • Improve performance, observability, and reliability across the backend
  • Write the schemas, migrations, and tests that keep us moving fast safely
  • Be on a small on-call rotation for the services you own
  • Mentor the rest of the team on backend patterns

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years of production backend experience
  • Strong SQL and relational data modeling
  • Comfort with at least one of: queueing, caching, search, streaming
  • Has carried a pager before and learned from it

Nice to have

  • Experience scaling a system past a million users
  • Open-source contributions to backend tools
  • You've built internal tooling that other engineers actually use

What we offer

  • Senior salary plus equity
  • Fully remote with team off-sites
  • Hardware budget and the tooling you ask for
  • Real ownership over the systems you ship
  • A team that ships every week
